What's happening with Help Center Live?

Hey everyone..

Just an update to let you know that we are in full development of HCL..

What we're doing at the moment is:

- Updating the website .. the one we use now is sh.. um, really bad.
- Updating the Hep Center Live core.
- Updating the Help Center Live interface.
- Improve forums layout.

In the process, we're studying things like modules, themes, etc., as well as understanding the product more (as you may or may not know, we've recently acquired the site, source and brand).

I've attached a few mockups so you all can see what's going to happen there..

New Owner

Hey everybody.. this is to announce that HCL has a new owner.

Jason Alexander (me) will resume where Mike left off, and development has already begun. You may have noticed some down time on the site today, we updated Drupal and SMF to the latest versions, and we had to port of the theme used here, since v5 of Drupal was as high as was supported.. phew.

So, everything should be back up and running, and now we can focus in on v3 and ticket support..

Here we go!

Jason

No longer involved

Folks, it's with a sad heart that I must report that I will no longer be able to continue working on HCL. While I have loved working on this project, other issues continue to keep me from getting anything done. Should a capable project lead come forward, then the project should be able to continue. However it will be without me. For those who have been supporting the project (Victor comes to mind) thank you, with out you this would have died much sooner.

HCL Version 2.1.5 Released - Security Update

Ok, now that I can use SVN again, here is the latest release of HCL. I'm including the customary changelog, however it's important to note that this is a security release and contains a fix for a potential security flaw in at least versions 2.x.

### Version 2.1.5 - August ,20007 ###
- Fixed problem with transcript deletion
- Fixed major Security escalation issue
- Minor updates to auth.php to fix small errors
- More work on the transcript issue

The new zip is located at http://sourceforge.net/projects/helpcenterlive and is available for download now.

HCL Version 2.1.4 Released

A new full release of Help Center Live has hit the Source Forge project pages! There have been a few updates and bug fixes, however those changes do not require an update of the database. This means that to upgrade, simply upload all files except the config.php file and the setup directory to your server.

Here is the change log for 2.1.4:

* Fixed short_open_tag errors on newer PHP installs
* Fixed more file corruptions
* Added config option for operators to delete chat transcripts
* Fixed error in database.sql

Anonymous restrictions grow

Since people think it's cute to post spam and "test" comments and issues, I have turned off the ability to post such to the site anonymously. Each time an issue is posted to a project, I get an e-mail, I'm tired of e-mails that are for an issue with the only thing in it being "test" or some derivative thereof.
