Developer's Handbook : Introduction

The developers handbook is all about how to begin developing for HCL. Whether it's core work, modules, themes, or plugins, we'll cover the basics here. As HCL matures and develops new methodologies, we'll be adding to this book.

Note: While we have no intention of holding information from the public, this is a living book, and sometimes it simply gets left behind the current source code. While we attempt to ensure that everything that works in a version is available in later minor versions, sometimes this is simply not possible. If your having a problem with a function, let us know in the forums, likewise, if a function is needed in the core for a module, again alert us to this fact. However core functions are only added if they provide a wide base service to many modules or have some benefit for the core itself.
