I am sure this is a stupid question, but just to make sure......
How do I go about making the icon work on my website? So it shows when "offline" and "available"?

hi, you must:
1.- Go to your system admin and clic on System Configuration
2.- Click on Generate Core
3.- Choose between Image Code, Text Code, HTML Only Code or Invisible Code.
4.- Select the department you want to show as online or offline. You can also choose "All departments"
5.- Check Enable Cobrowse if you want to have the ability to initiate a chat with a visitor from your Monitor
6.- Clic Generate Code
7.- Copy the code wherever you want to show the icon or text of availability
