After installation is complete...

Hello, I'm getting frustrated because after I uploaded the files and set it up correctly, I can't access anything. I tried installing it through my hosts Elefante Scripts. This way I was at least able to access admin page, but no other page. When I deleted it, I went to this site and downloaded the file and uploaded/installed it myself. After I have set it up, I can't even get in the admin page. When ever i go to my site's /hcl/ directory, it's just a white page and it prompts to actually downloads module. php on to my computer (I have tested this on Firefox). When I go to my site's /hcl/admin page it prompts to download login. php on to my computer or to open in wordpad.
Server info:
Operation System : Debian GNU/Linux
MySQL Version : mysql Ver 14. 12 Distrib 5. 0. 32, for pc-linux-gnu (i486) using readline 5. 2
PHP Version: 4
Thank you.

Oh, I believe I figured it out. It's because I was accessing the pages incorrectly. It's /hcl/admin/index. php, not just /hcl/admin.
Am I correct?
Thank you.

Looks to me like you havn't got your webserver configured to serve PHP files.
If you get the save or open prompt then php is not enabled in your http. conf
try this :
Change the DirectoryIndex line in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd. conf to
DirectoryIndex index. html index. htm index. shtml index. cgi index. php index. php3 index. pl
or substitute paths as needed for Debian if thats the distro you use.
Good luck and chill. it's Christmas man.
