Hello,
I have been trying to fix this for hours now, I am reading this and I don't see anyone with this error.
I typed the following as I tried to install.

Hostname: mywebsite.com
database: mysql.mywebsite.com
username: myusername
password: mypassword
Prefix: hlc_ (kept it the same)

Then I click next, then submit.

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Lost connection to MySQL server during query in /home/.tideles/hhaddis/crazyphonez.com/hcl/class/database.php on line 48
Lost connection to MySQL server during query

I went and checked whats line 48 about in database.php and it was saying something about username and password.. I went to mysql.mywebsite.com on my firefox and then I was able to log into it with the username and password I have here.

Any help?

Try setting the database name to whatever your hosting company calls the database you have previously created for HCL.

I tried to change the hostname and/or the database to the address that I use to connect to the FTP from my hosting company.  It didn't work.

When you created the database in your hosts control panel, what name did it have?

Nevermind sorry, I didn't know I needed to actually create a name on my own hosting too.
Thanks.
