Hi,
Great software if we can get some things to smoothly work.

I have a canned message.
When I use it (see below), the customer doesn't get the canned message.
And, the operator's SEND button doesn't work.
(See below for versions I'm using.)

Operator can _type a message and hit ENTER to send it.
The msg shows in the Operator window.
Customer sees "Operator is typing a message.."
BUT customer does NOT receive the typed message.

The customer now sends a msg.
Operator receives it and operator's SEND button now works.

Operator types another message and sends it.
Customer still does NOT receive the operator's msg.

There's an IE msg on Operator window, "This website wants to run the following add-on: Windows Media 6.4 Player Shim from M$. If you trust..."
I already have my player of choice and did hear sounds.
Do I have to install this for HCL to stabilize?

I close that window but HCL still acts wierd.

Another error message in operator's IE is
Line 166, Char 46, The system cannot locate the resource specified.
Code 0, URL: http://www.mysite.com/chat/live/chat/main.pgp?admin&chatid-19.

Here is the canned message that fouls up things.
"I'm sorry but we don't have print catalogs to mail. I'd be happy to put together a short one if you're interested in a few items, like only concrete benches. Would you like this? "

I can manually type part of this message and HCL is okay
"I'm sorry but we don't have print catalogs to mail. I'd be happy to put together a short one if you're interested in a few items, like only concrete b "

Is there a max length for canned msgs and if so, how can I make it accept longer ones?

I test with FF = customer and IE = operator on same computer.

(IE 7.0.5730 or FF 2.0.0.12) with HCL 2.1.5.
Apache server is updated with latest scripts.

The limit is 150, and we've just learned to live with it.  Anything over 150 characters stops the customer from seeing anything we type...   Some messages we split into two, and others we just found ways to shorten.  Thank goodness for character count in word  Cheesy

This is befuddling. Any help from programmer will be appreciated.

I modified the template, templates/Bliss/chat_send.tpl (we're using Bliss).
From
maxlength="150"
to
maxlength="300"

The TYPED messages from the customer can reach this length and the operator sees the message.

This long _typed message from the operator go nowhere. Customer sees nothing on their screen. They do see that operator is typing a message, but no message shows up.

Any suggestions?
