New Installation

I am a new user so please bear with me. I was following the HCL installation guide and i got php installed , and got mysql installed and created the table. My problem is it ask's me to upload the HCL folder and use chmod to modify permissions i suppose. I was wondering where do i need to upload the folder to. Thank you for your help in advance.

hi, you must upload the folder and files to the root of your hosting account. (usually on linux
public_html
folder)

Are you attempting to install on a local machine? Bear in mind that HCL is designed to "live" on your web server, as the outside world needs to be able to access it. I really isn't designed to sit behind a home/business router and be on the local network.
