Title: Upgrading from 2.1.2
Post by: AMateos on August 23, 2007, 01:13:56 AM
Hi all,
I want to upgrade from 2.1.2. Should i upgrade to 2.1.3 first?
Will i lose my winapp license or will i have problems with it?

Additionally, im having problems when i try to login (admin user).
It says:
Quote
Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /hsphere/local/home/MYUSER/MYDOMAIN.COM/class/database.php on line 265

Thanks!

The 2.1.x installer should be upgraded one step at a time.

The other issue means that HCL could not connect to the database.

Thank you and excuse me.

The config file should be located in the base HCL install directory.

Hi,
I have seen the config.php and all is OK. Where can be the problem?

Double check you MySQL host user and password settings in the config file.

Are you saying that we should upgrade from 2.1.2 to 2.1.3 then to 2.1.4 and then 2.1.5? I am at 2.1.2 and have downloaded 2.1.5. My IT guy is no longer here and I am having to fix everything myself. Right now HCL is not working 100%. I moved the site to a better hosting company. Took me awhile to get the hcl figured out with the config.php forgot I would have to assign the new database. :) I really liked hcl when it was working and so did my customers.

Thanks,
William

Generally, yes, however in your case the only database upgrade was from 2.1.2 to 2.1.3, you may use 2.1.5 to upgrade a 2.1.2 system safely.  This is something that will be addressed in the new installer.

At this point, if your running 2.1.2 or later, you can upgrade using the 2.1.5 package, which should save you a lot of steps.
