Title: sessions and ie 7
Post by: dhthwy on October 20, 2007, 07:12:37 PM
 I recently installed this software and i was able to login to it fine in firefox, however in IE 7 i couldn't login, simply nothing would happen. No errors were showing up in the console.  My first guess was that it had something to do with the session, so i pinned it down to this line

 setcookie(session_name(), session_id(), time() + 3600, ((strpos($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'], "MSIE 6")!== false)? "\\" : "/"));

 that was failing for IE 7, and yes i have java installed, and it was listed as a trusted site. my friend also uses IE 7 and couldn't login either.

  I changed the MSIE 6 to MSIE 7 in that line and it seems to have fixed it... but im not entirely sure what that line of code is doing exactly

it's strange, I work on IE7 and I didn't have any problem.  Which HCL version are you using?

I should've mentioned the versions:

it's 2.1.4, so it's isnt the absolute latest. I guess .5 will fix it then, i'll update it when i get the chance.
just thought i'd post the problem on the forum in case others have the same problem.

php version 4.4.7 on apache

There was a lot of work in .5 to deal with IE7 (and some timer issues in FF and IE)
