Title: Browser source code
Post by: Daveyboy_560 on November 20, 2007, 08:45:51 AM
I have just installed HCL on my website and everything appears to be fine. I am concerned that the location of my admin can be found by reading the source code in IE. Can I mask this somehow so potential hackers cannot find it?

you will need to do a lot of work to change the admin folder, what you can do is to erase the admin folder on the source code you are talking about.

However, anybody knows that the folder "admin" is used on a lot of systmes to access their administration pannel

One thing to note as well, a lot of work goes into making things as secure as possible, and really, I think some consideration of making the admin section flexible (i.e. the directory can be changed) is a good idea, as well as getting rid of that tidbit of info, I agree it helps to obscure the info, but never losing site of what the admin is capable of is likewise important.
